Metal Farm Subnautica 2
Use this Metal Farm Subnautica 2 guide to scan the blueprint near Angel Cove, craft the module, gather Mangaloy and Axum Bacterial Culture, and duplicate metals safely.
Metal Farm Subnautica 2 Overview
Metal Farm Subnautica 2 progression is a late early-game base module route tied to the Alien Ruins, Angel Cove, and green lagoon / metal farm area. The module lets you place a supported resource inside, wait for the timer, then break the grown output and collect more of that material.
The important limitation is that the Metal Farm is not fully self-sustaining. It can duplicate many metal resources after you already have one, but Axum Bacterial Culture is used to craft the module and the source videos show that it does not duplicate properly inside the Metal Farm.
- Target blueprint: Metal Farm
- Unlock requirement: scan three Metal Farm pieces
- Crafting bottlenecks: Mangaloy Ingot and Axum Bacterial Culture
- Mangaloy materials shown: Atacamite, Troilite, and Titanium Ingot
- Required utility after output grows: Sonic Resonator
- Base requirement: power source and transmitter coverage
Metal Farm Subnautica 2 Blueprint Scan Route
For the main Metal Farm Subnautica 2 location, reach the Alien Ruins / Research Outpost area roughly east of the starting Life Pod. One source describes the Alien Ruins as about 1,300 meters straight east from the original Life Pod, then uses the Research Outpost as the practical route anchor.
From the Research Outpost, head down toward Angel Cove, then follow the northeast path or arm until the metal farm structures come into view. The blueprint unlocks after three scans, and the videos note that several arms on the same metal farm structures can be scanned, so you do not need to search three separate distant landmarks.
- Start from the Alien Ruins / Research Outpost area.
- Head east toward Angel Cove, roughly 500 meters from the outpost route anchor in the videos.
- When the path opens, follow the northeast arm or channel.
- Approach the metal farm structures in the green lagoon area.
- Scan three Metal Farm arms or pieces to unlock the blueprint.
- Return to base after the Metal Farm blueprint and metal farming entry are unlocked.

Crafting Materials for Metal Farm Subnautica 2
After scanning the Metal Farm Subnautica 2 blueprint, craft the module with one Mangaloy Ingot and one Axum Bacterial Culture. The videos show Mangaloy coming from Atacamite, Troilite, and Titanium Ingot, so this route overlaps with the deeper green-pool mineral routes.
Atacamite appears as black spiky ore deposits near the Research Outpost route and toward Angel Cove. Troilite is the green material found around the Angel Comb / green pool / metal farm terrain. Both routes expect the Sonic Resonator because the ore deposits need to be broken before you collect the drops.
- Atacamite: black spiky ore near the Research Outpost and Angel Cove route.
- Troilite: green mineral deposits near Angel Comb, green pools, and metal farm terrain.
- Titanium Ingot: craft separately before making Mangaloy.
- Axum Bacterial Culture: found around the same green lagoon / metal farm area.
- Sonic Resonator: needed to break several mineral deposits and grown outputs.
Axum Bacterial Culture Metal Farm Route
Axum Bacterial Culture is the awkward part of the Metal Farm Subnautica 2 recipe because it is collected near the same green lagoon area but cannot be treated like normal repeatable metal. The route shown in the videos keeps you near the metal farm / green pool zone after you have already reached the blueprint area.
Search around the green pools, especially nearby northeast and northwest pockets, then break the bacterial growths and pick up the culture. One video shows a culture piece vanishing through terrain after breaking, so collect each drop immediately and check several nearby growths before leaving.
- Stay in the green lagoon / metal farm area after scanning the blueprint.
- Search the green pool edges and nearby northeast and northwest pockets.
- Break Axum Bacterial Culture growths carefully.
- Pick up the culture immediately after it drops.
- Collect at least one culture for the Metal Farm recipe before returning to base.
- Do not plan around duplicating Axum Bacterial Culture inside the Metal Farm, because the videos show no working timer for it.
How to Use Metal Farm Subnautica 2
Build the Metal Farm inside your base or another powered area. The videos mention power transmitters and a power source, so if the module does not run, check the base power chain before assuming the item is unsupported.
To use the Metal Farm Subnautica 2 module, put in a supported ore or resource, wait for its timer, then use the Sonic Resonator to break the grown output. Pick up the pieces and keep at least one copy of rare materials so you can reseed the farm if respawns are limited or unreliable during Early Access.
- Craft and place the Metal Farm in a powered base area.
- Open the Metal Farm inventory.
- Insert one supported metal resource you want to duplicate.
- Wait for the timer to finish.
- Use the Sonic Resonator on the grown output.
- Collect the duplicated material drops.
- Keep one spare piece of rare metals such as Troilite or Celestine as a future seed.

Metal Farm Subnautica 2 Practical Notes
The Metal Farm is most useful for preserving rare mined materials after you have already found the first sample. If a mineral may not respawn reliably, do not spend the final piece on crafting before trying to duplicate it.
The source videos agree on the big workflow but show a few Early Access quirks: some materials work, some have long timers, and Axum Bacterial Culture does not behave like a normal duplicatable metal. Treat the module as a resource safety net, not a replacement for learning the original material locations.
- Scan three pieces at the metal farm structures to unlock the blueprint.
- Bring the Sonic Resonator before mining Atacamite, Troilite, or finished farm output.
- Power problems usually mean the base or transmitter chain needs attention.
- Axum Bacterial Culture is a recipe bottleneck, not a reliable farm seed.
- Use the module first on scarce materials you already know how to replace if something goes wrong.
